From 3 o’clock on this late November Friday afternoon, these 25 pictures of home.
Taken from Woodside Ferry terminal.
Liverpool seeming so close.
Close enough to build a footbridge?
Because late in the afternoons the ferries don’t call at Woodside any more.
So quiet here.
So beautiful, so close.
And this is Home too.
One of two cafés called Home on this side of the river, run by two old friends of mine, Polly and Ben.
Though we won’t be meeting either of them today.
In their lovely Home within the ferry terminal.
With top views of Liverpool from up there.
Sadly upstairs is being cleaned before they close, so I can’t show you the views. But the rest of my pictures give you the general idea.
I’m still mad about those early finish ferries though.
For goodness sake Mersey Travel, what happened to public service?
Anyway, back outside at four o’clock.
Even those black buildings I’m usually so nasty about are looking magical.
No words needed.
The new Creamfields Steel Yard being constructed on the left there.
Good evening Liverpool.
What a place.
Another week of Coming Home ends peacefully.
