We always called this place the edge of the known universe,
Expecting to step off it as we got closer to the islands.
Little Eye, Middle Eye and Hilbre hanging in the air, out there
Where the sea becomes the sand became the sky and left the land,
At the edge of the known universe.

Today however, the known universe was nearly full
Of just after Christmas families and their dogs.
But still
The sea, the sand, the sky and the land did their merging,
And we stepped off the edge of the known universe anyway.

28th December 2020

The sea, the sand, the sky and the land did their merging,
And we stepped off the edge of the known universe anyway.
